This week we have had crazy crazy rain! It has been so fun though, reminds me of home! Good ole Texas Rain Storms! :)
I GOT A TON OF MAIL THIS WEEK. I got 3 from Grandma, one was from November of last year, and turns out, it was sent to the Philippines on accident! :) Hahhaaahha! I also got Carina and Kevin's letters, so that was super sweet! :)
Elder Boyce's birthday was this Wednesday! WE didn't have much of a celebration, we did go to the chop bar and get fufu! :) Nice meal for his big day, that old man, 20 whole years! :) I grabbed him some root beer from Kumasi for his birthday, and he enjoyed that :)
On that note, we went to Kumasi for some emergency interviews, so we spent Friday in Kumasi. After our interviews, we went to Palace since I haven't been in Kumasi for a few months. I grabbed some real root beer, and some root beer concentrate, so we will be making root beer in Ghana! Who woulda guessed that??? :)
We had district conference this past week, and it was awesome! Saturday we went to the adult session, and it was awesome. We had our powerful investigator Prince come, and after the meeting, he was interviewed by President Cosgrave. They came out and President Cosgrave said, "Looks like you have another branch president in Mpraeso." He really is soooo awesome, he reads everything we give him, he studies all the time, and loves to share about the Book of Mormon. He is so great, I love that guy, and will miss him for sure!
We had his baptism on Sunday morning before we went to Nkawkaw for the Sunday session of District Conference, it was wonderful, a ton of members showed up to take the branch car, so they stayed and supported him on his big day. He was honestly concerned about me not being able to manage him in the water, it was sooo funny. Not surprising for anyone who knows my physical stature though! :) All was well, either he was really carrying his own weight, or there is something to this "exercise in the morning stuff". Anyways, he is fantastic, I will miss him.
Speaking of that, I am being transferred to Obuasi on Wednesday! It is still hills, so I guess that is the Lord telling me my legs still need some more muscle...Hahahhaaa! But, to fulfill the promise the Lord made in Jeremiah 16:16, I think my time here serving the Lord has fulfilled this scripture:
16 ¶ Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the Lord, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.
Now I am going to the hills to do some more hunting for souls. Just as Gary B. Sabin, in this last conference, said "The Lord will fulfill all his promises" and as it says in D&C 1:
37 Search these commandments, for they are true and faithful, and the prophecies and promises which are in them shall all be fulfilled.
38 What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same.
That is my week here in Mpraeso, Love you guys!
Elder Wawro :)
